Broken Explosion Tower

Mike at Explosion is a real good guy and has helped us out with our board racks. I know he will do everything to make this right.

It looks like there is a silver inner lining that is supposed to be strengthening the area where the weld is...is that what it is? I would bet that the inner support was supposed to be deeper into the bottom piece and it would not have let the tower have so much stress right on the weld.

What were you doing when it happened? We have had threads about pulling tubes from the tower...It still should not have snapped, but it makes you wonder.

That's too bad. I have not had any problems with my Xplosion tower, but my model is a little different. I stack my tower up with a lot of weight from speakers and boards. I keep my Wet Sounds 485s on them when traveling (6+ hours at 80+ mph and on rough roads) and my tower is still very tight. Mike at Xplosion is a good guy and I am sure that he will make it right.

Im not a F-ing Moron and was not pulling a tube from the tower...Come on???

We were just driving up river when it happened...My buddy was like "uh your tower just came apart"

It happened to another tower as well a few weeks ago!

how come you opted for the explosion tower rather than the tige tower? I love the z tower, it doesn't rattle at all like my old one did.

I liked the lines of it better and it was supposed to be more durable, easier to collapse and much more sturdy

I am going to be honest with you here...folding down the Z tower is not one of my favorite things to do. We used to love going to this little remote lake where we either had to pull the boat out of the water go to the boat ramp or drive under a very low bridge and we didn't go there at all this year because we did not want to take the tower down.

That is what I heard about it as well...especially with all of the Tower speakers on top of it. It was also a little bit cheaper, but that didn't really push us into a decision.
