Rack Strap Issue for the Z Series Tower

I was wondering if anyone else had issues with the straps on the Z Series tower.

2 of my 4 rubber straps as breaking were you pull to secure the boards.

Does anyone know the warranty on those racks? Is is possible to replace only the straps?

I think this happen when I drove about 15 miles from the lake to my house without attaching the straps.

Just a word of caution, do NOT drive without attaching the straps or this may happen to you.

Are these racks made from Wake Design? If so, they have bungie cord replacements for them. I want to purchase the bungies this off season. However, Razz had issues with the early release or Beta bungies when they first started the testing of them.

Those do look like the Wake Design racks. IMO, I would try the bungie cord replacements that they offer.

Good memory DA! Yeah the beta's broke almost right away. I was on the list for the improved version and did recieve them but sold the boat before i put them on so i can't attest to their durability. Just to note, unless they changed the design you no longer have the rubber handle pull on the bungee versions, just a cloth finger pull and loop. While i personally liked that idea better, some may not. Just an FYI.

3 yr warranty and your dealer can order replacement strap sets.

This is what kills me with the whole warranty issue. The straps IMO are a moving part (don't get me wrong, Tige should replace them) that is no different than the gelcoat issue on the uprights.

Perhaps it was just coincidence that my broke when I drove it without hooking it up. I also drove 6 hours going some times over 80 mph on the way back from Lake Powell. All I know is that before the trip the straps we good and after they had big cracks on it. Now if I give another pull to strap a board it will break for sure.
