Is the engine turning over? The NSS only stops power to the starter relay. The NSS switch is on the right side of the Velvet Drive on the same shaft as the shifter cable linkage arm which is on the left side. It has 2 wires with screws for attachment. If the 2 wires were connected together the switch would be bypassed. Are you sure the switch is bad (12v to it, but not out)? Make sure the linkage is all tight and aligned.Originally posted by wakemaker01 View Posti have a 2003 21 i with a velvet drive my question is there a way to bypass the nss because it will not let my boat start if so how.
If the engine is turning over there's another relay up on the engine that controls power to the computer.

Jumping the NSS should only be done as a diagnostic test. Is it a "no crank" symptom or a "crank but not start"? As R&T stated, the switch only stops the starter from receiving current when the trans is in gear. If the engine is turning over, but will not start, your looking at something else.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More
