I see someone called 'americanskier' on here and started to wonder... What ever happened to American Skier Boats???

They used to build a great 3 event boat back in the 80's and 90's... i saw a 2002 model in Boat Trader so looks like that was probably the last year of production.

They turned into Elan and made a really nice tournament boat. Katrina officially took them out for now.

And they did use Marine Power, which hurt their sales because at that time they were the only ski boat company using them.

how many elan boats have you sold? because i have'nt seen or heard of the boat but it's got some good looks to it...kinda strange seating but different..

That is one thick swim platform. Wondering if there are weight in there or some sort of ballast.

Kind of funny how all the guys are in the front and they put the one girl in the very back.

The swim platform is an integrated ballast tank. Interesting concept. Ugly too.

I've actually surfed one. The pump was out on the platform ballast so I didn't get to see it in action but, we had 8 people on it and a 6' G&S surf board. We made it work. The thing rode like a racecar, but 35+mph on a late Tahoe afternoon with 8 people in a 21' D-drive = loose fillings. It was a pretty much no frills boat though. Kind like a Moomba. I said to the owner, "Nice boat." He said, "No it's not."
