What do you tow your RZ4/24Ve with?

I'd rather be overkill and be able to tow through mountains feeling like I have nothing back there then pull close to my limit and strain the system over time.

I have an '08 RZ4 and tow it w/ an '08 V8 Jeep Commander. Works just fine--towing capacity for the car w/ the tow package I have is 6,000lbs and the boat weighs 4,500lbs, so even w/ a full tank of gas, I'm well under the limit. I think that's the question u need the answer to--what is max towing capacity for the particular mid-size SUV u are thinking about with the particular tow package u r thinking about.

Add 1,250 for the trailer and another 500 for gear and fuel. You pulling close to 6,250.

Watch the trans on the Commander. That will be the week spot.

u think so? one thing i mis-remembered b/c u made me nervous, so i checked it--'08 Jeep Commander v8 towing capacity is 7,200lbs, not 6,000. So that certainly makes me breathe a little easier...I don't tow it very far--ramp is a mile away. Haven't had any issues...

I was gonna say, your towing cap. has to be the same as mine. People can say what they will, but my Jeep GC is NOT overmatched by the 24Ve. Pulls AND stops with ease.
