Tige Owners Whaaa???

Alright Tige owners, what ever happened to the friendly boaters wave? A couple of weeks ago I was at Mead and just got back from Mojave today. On several occasions I gave a wave to Tige guys only to be stared back in return like a deer in headlights. WTF? Anybody care to share their insight as to where we are going with regards to this as a “boating community”? Geez, how things have changed since my first Tige nearly 10 years ago. When I would exchange a friendly wave to fellow boaters, my kids use to ask me, “Do you know those people?” Now, the question is “Why didn’t they wave back?”; sad.

It's not like that here at all..unless you drive an x-star..tigeowners usually wave to each other on Okoboji. I get told i have a sweet boat all the time.

I wave to everyone for the most part. It's a boater's thing.

But then you always have the a-holes that ask for tow into the launch ramp when you have already lined up your boat and heading towards the trailer. Then they say "What about a Boaters Friendly Lake".... My friend told him to swim his boat to their trailer which was <20 yards away. CP3 was there on my boat when that one happened.

In Texas it's like a race to see who will wave first. We even do it in our cars and trucks...........well unless of course you have a California license plate. Then you get the stink eye! Ha ha ha just kidding.

One thing I notice is that sometimes the person isn't always looking at you when you wave. They could be looking at your boat or passengers. Especially if the driver is a male and your boat is full of "females".

Every sporting group seems to feel they need to wave to each other it seems. Wtf? What's up with that anyway? The Harley riders do it to the extent that they'll scowl if you don't, the Jeep guys will damn near break an arm to do it, flailing around like dead fish! And god forbid we forget the PT Cruiser & Miata crowds!

I wave on the water when i'm near another vessel with a downed rider so they know i see them, period. That's what the "water wave" is all about. Geez! What's next, old ladies waving acknowledging their age or gray hair or something?!

Besides, last thing i need is carpal shoulder or some freaking bozo thinking i'm waving at him to come drink my beer!

Wow, someone is awefully pissy today! Geeze, it's just a common courtesy, good manners, respect. You know shi* your parents taught you when you were young? Something this today's world has seemed to lost touch of.

I'm not being pissy at all, i just don't see the need to wave at everyone that's all. Do you wave at everyone driving down the street? Or how about at the mall? Or maybe a high-five at the public restroom? Why should boaters feel the need? Never could understand that, it's not like they're an exclusive group or anything.

I wave out of common courtesy when warrented, good manners as dictated and most of all respect when i know someone that fits the bill not just because it's the cool thing to do.

Example: last weekend we're floating in a cove and enjoying some tunes. An MB B52 parks a 100 feet so so away from and waves, yes i waved back. Ten minutes later he takes off, does a 270 degree power turn around us and sends a tsunami 4 feet high! At least 20 gallons comes over the bow! Freaking moron! He figures out what he did and hauls ***, no coutesy or respect there.
