I would get that checked. That is not the way it is suppose to work. When I am parked listening to tunes, I just turn the key to the left and do not get charged any hours.

I have 285 hours on my 2005 24V. That equates to about 28K miles on a car engine. She is just getting broke in good!!!!!

Hmmm - not really....My truck has 335 hours and 11,000 miles. I traded in my old truck with 2,500 hours and 70k miles. IMO a boat should be good for several thousand hours if you compare it to a car but the real difference lies in the RPM that the engine has been run at, a boat is usually run at well over 3,000 rpm for a good portion of its operation.

I just broke 120 hours on my RZ2, 30 for this year.

I use about 130-140 hours each year. Each weekend I alternate boats with my buddies who have a Supra 21V, 22SSV and a Malibu.

FYI, the Z1's hour meter measures any hours your key is in the ignition. Whether the engine is running or you are just listening to tunes. Mine is up around 80-90.

It should be wired differently, especially when you think that hours affects resale. We have ours wired to the ACC switch. When ACC is on, with key off or on, the radio works, off, and it doesn't.

The dealer is the one that told me that. They are aware that it doesn't make sense and they do not know why they did that with the Z1s. I've confirmed it by watching it turn when listening to music with the engine off.

Using the radio (with key in the acc position) turns the hour meter also.

How many hours do you normally put on the boat in a season?

Hit 70 today in a little over 2 months

We're at 65 since the end of May. Last year we logged 220 hrs between Memorial Day and Labor Day. This year's been a bit lower due to other conflicts and we're off to Europe for the next 2 weeks. We'll probably hit 120-150 for the year.

This isn't fair.. I always get hounded in this forum... 30 hours so far on my boat and a lot more in three other friend's boats. So, it should be 30+ for me so far.

X2, we usually will only take the boat out for ike 3 hours or so at a time. So far in the 3 weeks I have had the RZ4 we are up to about 35 hrs. It had like 2 on it or something like that

That's respectable. If you're logging 10 hours a week of ride time, you're doing well.

da.bell gets grief because he logs about 10 hours a season. One can only wonder about the amount of hours he spends talking about riding on this board
