hopefully it is an intake gasket. If it is a head gasket it won't be the first head you take off, that's how it always works lol.

I agree but when you have it taken apart that far, you might as well take both off and do them, they are so easy to get at in this boat, it still takes time though, another person that is running the same set up said that they have had problems with the heads warping on their 455 in their jet, so that could be a problem as well.
