Pungent smell in boat after lake trip

Ok, so the wife sprays lysol on the carpet and the smell is gone. I guess I had the cooler drain open and the carpet did get wet in the back straoge area. Mystery solved.

I discovered a similar situation. My cooler drain was not siliconed, so water just ran down the outside of the drain hose and into the carpet in the front storage compartment and walkthru area. I'm thinking my boat was built late on a friday afternoon, as the front storage compartments all have screws a 1/2' too long, sticking out into the compartments, holding the kick plate on. Found that out quickly when i shredded a wetsuit pulling it out at the start of the season.
