Powell next week

How do your boats do in Lake Powell??... especially when some of the storms come in? I have never taken my 21V to Lake Powell because I don't wan't to get caught in a storm... am I being too cautious?

Let me know what boats you are running and your general experience on the big water.

It is true that the storms can be horrific. The good news is that the lake is mostly long and narrow with a lot of tall canyons. Protection is never that far away if you can see the storm coming. THey can move in fast in the summer, but rarely so fast that you can't go and hide out in some protected area. It is important to pay attention. Only the bigger bays will get major swells.

We are heading out July 10th out of Wahweep. I hope the cut is open and the water has warmed up!

It does wear a tiny bit but it buffs out very easy. We towed a time or two without the cover and couldn't stand the bug cleanup when we got to the lake...

Finished all my PM’s on my Truck and Boat, So all I have left to do is pack up the food.
Saturday we will be on the 10 to 12 hour trip to Powell.
Can’t believe that we where able to get 4 wakeboards, 8 ski vest, and 3 large towables into one rear locker.
Got to love the storage on the tige v drives.

How was your trip to Powell?

I went down Friday the 20th and just got back last night, we went out of Bull Frog and hung out up the San Juan the first part of the week then just stayed in Halls the latter part of the week. I'm heading back down Thursday night after work.

All in all we had a good trip...went with unexperienced boaters so that was alot more work for us. And the little kids took a lot of time out of the "ski" day. I will try to get a few pics up soon.
