We might have to hook up sometime. I might need a little sanity break.

Thanks for all the info.
Thanks to all your help, we should have a great trip at the end of the month.
This is what we have done to be prepared.
1) picked up a GPS unit
2) Marine radio
3) I got a map of lake Powell from the Utah department of truism
4) I have requested a copy of Lake Powell magazine".
5) I have been using Goggle earth and planning out different days of our trip.
The only thing left is what to do at night in Page.
And where to eat in page or surrounding area.
Thanks
Again for all the info
David WTige, it's a way of life!

The snow melt has not hit hard here Dabell. It will start this week and keep going. Up where the snow comes from it is in the 30's and night and it is in the 60's if were lucky during the day.Originally posted by da.bell View PostWish some of that water would flow to my local lake.
We are still 40 feet below the max level.

Zapatas is always good! Stromboli's is also great.Originally posted by TeamAllen View PostRemember your in Page AZ. Your choices are pretty limited.
Strombollies is still there and is an excellent choice!
There are a couple of Mexican Restaurants. We ate at one called Zappos or something. It had something to do with a bare foot guy?

If you want a good steak there is Ken's Old West a block west of Strombollies. And another vote for Strombollies.Originally posted by Waterski-Rebel View PostIf it is still there, Strombollie's Pizza is a great place to eat in Page.My dad always said "Stupid Hurts". He's yet to be proven wrong, but for some reason I keep trying.

Just to add variety, besides Strombollies, we have eaten at the "Dam bar and grill", it was pretty good. Our waiter that night was a kid named "Twist" and he also ran an on the lake catering service. For a fee, he and his partner would come out to you on the lake and prepare a meal (meals) for your group. We were going to try using them once, but the cost was a little high. So if you go to the Dam bar and grill, ask for Twist and see if he is still doing that.Originally posted by whitlock87 View PostLovinpowell

I'm wondering if anyone has met this guy, and happened to use his services?
Also, there are a lot of local places to eat, when I'm there I like to go to the places that are only in Page (not the chain, fast food places). There is a steakhouse just at the top of the hill coming into Page, on the left side. I can't remember the name, but it was pretty good as well.

Tall: are you going out there this Sunday? It's looking good for you, only about 5 feet to go. If it keeps up at the same pace it should be there about June 5 or 6. You'll have two days extra just so you don't damage your prop going through.

I'm not sure, I assume that the absolute minimum would be the level at which they say "it's passable, we don't recommend it, but go ahead if you dare", and the minimum safe elevation they say "it is safe to pass, but do it at your own risk". I think that Tall will be there next week so he will be able to give us a firsthand account.Originally posted by xpjim1 View Post3.34 feet to go to the minimum . Whats the diferrence between the absolute minimum usable elevation and minimum safe elevation.
