Where else can you be on the lake in freezing cold temps one day and on what will be the lake the next day and only 30 minutes apart. Friday I was surfing and Saturday I was skiing.

I almost when snowmobile yesterday...

Although the lake is ready for surfing, it is a little nippy for this brazilian...

You guys are lucky. I came out there to your neck of the woods two years ago to do some good quality skiing like we dont have here in the east. One day on the slopes in Park City, the next day at some state park lake around Provo, then the next day at Snowbird. Beautiful area you guys have, I would love to do both in the same day, boat & ride early one morning, and then hit a few slope runs in the afternoon.

I do not think you missed much on Saturday. I called Sand Hollow (the ranger station has a phone), and asked how it looked. She said the wind was picking up. I asked how many boats were there...she said not many...about 25. For a lake that size, 25 boats is a glass shattering disaster.

I am sure many of those boats were fishing boats, but there is always an enormous amount of Northern Utah traffic here on Easter. There were probably more than a few wallies out there. If you are going to go in sub 50 degree water, it better be glass. So I did not go myself. Instead I took the dirt bike out for a good run.

Kona is my hero for getting in the water at 40 degree F. For me it has to be at least 60.

50 is not bad in a dry suit. There is no shock as the cold water penetrates the suit. It is a whole 'nuther animal.

Personally, I feel the air and water are the same with a drysuit. If I would wear a light pair of sweats for 50 degree air temp, then that is what I wear under my drysuit for 50 degree water and I seem to be just fine.

A good pair of sweats under the dry suit booties and a hoodie and don't forget the gloves and it's not to bad. Going again Monday or Tuesday afternoon any takers?

Seeing snow makes my shoulder hurt though...

Here is a lake 15 minutes for Park City (Jordanelle State Park)

Those 2 lakes are 50 minutes apart....

Last year we had snow on Easter.

The kids were making snow angels in their swimsuits (after some time warming up in the hot tub). The day before we were out on the lake.

We had AM ice on the ground last year. This year we were on the boat, no one got in the water though. Still too cold for us Southerners. I did get in waist deep to take care of some loading issues, and it was chilly. We cooked crawfish........again.
