Tim is using a prototype that Tige is testing for their new swim platforms. Every picture that we have seen of his boat, the new platform is either off the boat or just not very visible.
Now I wonder if it's a transparent platform.

I ran into Tim on Lake Austin while he was surfing. They had removed the platform because the corner of it drags and disrupts the surf wake. I ran into him again as we were recovering our boats at the ramp and talked to him a bit. He mentioned that he was working with Tige on a different swim platform design for his RZ4. I don't think he has the new platform from Tige yet. I PM'd him a month or so ago and he didn't have a prototype yet.

I would assume the platform fix should be pretty easy...Can't they just make it 3 inches narrower and put it 1 inch higher? I bet that would fix the problem except for the most heavy ballasted boats.
For this reason, and a few others, I am waiting for a new boat. If they do not fix it, I will continue to wait...or become TallbrandXguy. But the sound of it makes me throw up.
From a philosophical standpoint...I think that my 2005 has been the best boat I have owned because of the fact it is the same as the 2003...but with 2-3 years of refining. I could make a list of things that Tige has made that were not right when they were first released. One of those is the colored uprights...I thought they got rid of those because of constant powder coat problems? So that is why I think the 2009 models should be pretty much out of bugs. It seems to be the nature of the beast to then get everything just right and then discontinue the model.
