Dark tinting windows. I'm thinking it looks good, is there a down side? Most of the time I sit above the windshield anyway.

Most of the time means some of the time your looking through the winndshield and with dark tint you definately taking a risk of missing that one obstacle in the water. Dark tint is like a mirror and reflects everything so if the sun is on the dash it will cause a serious glare in the window. I've heard many that had it done that if given the chance they'd go with a light tint such as a 30% which cuts glare but allows you to see clearly. Fact is i might put a 30 on mine as i get a lot of glare but safety is number one!

her is my old boat that i sold a couple of months ago and it had some realy dark tint on it. scary at night and during the day you had your choice of sunglasses and looking over the windsheild of no sunglasses and being blinded by the glare..
my new boat will have lighter tint for sure. i do like tint though due to the fact that it does keep the sun off of me.
