Do you take your boat to the shop to De-winterize?

What is the steps to get the boat ready for the Lake after a long winter?

I winterize myself, but have had dealer do it. I make sure batteries are reinsatlled and have full charge if taken out or unhooked. Istall fake a lake and run boat. I try to take care of all maintenance and seasonal things when winterizing. Then I head to the lake and have fun. I am sure others have a more comprehensive list, but that's my routine. Where and when are you headed out? I was in Utah county today and Utah lake is still frozen over. Last year we were on the lake this week end. Good luck!!

I winterize myself so here's what i do when de-winterizing:

• reinstall batteries

• verify all electrical systems functioning

• change oil & filter

• change water seperator

• change transmission fluid

• check & replace spark plugs if neccessary

• change impeller

• check bilge pump functioning

• check bilge blower functioning

• re-install bilge drain plugs

• check trailer tires condition & air pressure

• check trailer brakes

• check trailer brake fluid

• check trailer lights

• connect fake-a-lake, run motor, inspect for leaks and run condition

• wash & wax exterior

• clean interior

Thanks guys, I might try to do it myself this year. According to taylor's boat the fluids should be good to go. I had my 20 hours service done at the same time as the winterization.

I usually go to Utah Lake.

I know that the Lake is still frozen, but I want to know exacly what to do when the weather warms up.

Hey just brought my 22v down from heber tonight it has been in my in-laws garage. I have it up for sale now so I need to get it de-winterized I Will be doing it Saturday.
I always leave the plugs in and fill with antifreeze so its a breeze to put back in service in the spring but still need to change the impeller I also change oil in the fall just in case there is water in it. With the PCM closed system it much easier. If you need help I am in Provo PM me.
Now I will be waiting for lake to thaw or boat to sale., then new boat !!!

De-winterize/summerize

(1) float boat off trailer

(2) turn key

(3) hit "power" button on stereo

(4) pull tab, enjoy the day

I could definitely do it myself, but I always take my boat to the dealer for its annual service ast the beginning of the season. It's more than just a fluid check. They go over my boat and make sure everything's working properly. This year, they even found that my anchor light wasn't working, which I knew because I disconnected it in favor of my tower mounted light. It gives me an opportunity to talk about the little things I've noticed and they check into them to see if it's really an issue or not.
