Sorry, my Pacific Blue top gets hot in central California when the temps get to 90+.... There is not way that black "doesn't really get all that hot"....

no doubt that is going to burn everyones arms not to mention show every scratch when people climb in and out of your boat especially via the bow..
That is why my boat is black just not on the deck....

I used to have a solid black crownline, and it never really got hot. Was it warmer than the white gelcoat... yes... was it Hot.... absolutely not.

As to the scratches... I'm prepared for those .... I got a buffer and a bottle of Finesse it on stand by...lol

All black is a great look. But I think it would drive me crazy.

I have had 1 white hull and two black hulls, I find them about the same for care. On my last Tige, I had a white swimdeck, on the new boat it is black. That is where I find the difference.......... The black one ( boat has 6 hours on it) is already scratched on the corners and it drives me crazy! The white swimdeck had 70 hours on it and never showed a single scratch. I can see the black top deck looking the same over the life of the boat.

I think not! I was over the top long before I bought the boat,
and I've got records to prove it. It's like trophy wife... It's not
about the maintance. It's about having something that shows
you know how to take care of what you have. In the south it's
all hot, That's why we are on the water. Black is well worth the
cost.

No doubt black boats look great. I have never owned one, but I would worry about it showing more dock marks and stuff than a lighter color. But like I said, I haven't owned one, so it may not be a concern.

I am totally happy with the black hull, not a big deal to keep clean. We do spray it with babes everytime we pull her out of the water. I actually wish the black went a little above the rub rail like the new z1 does. that really ties it together nice. Im talking with a local fiberglass shop that says they can do black gelcoat accent above the rubrail just like it came out of the mold. kinda scary though. good luck!

I agree with the above rail hull color. My RZ2 has that option like the Z1 but my dealer did not order it like that

I am going to wrap my boat, and one part of the wrap will be above the rub rail to get the black effect I want above the rail. You could check with a local decal shop and see if they could do a a small above rail wrap in black color.

Up close you would be able to tell it was a wrap but from a small distance, you would not be able to tell. this would be more cost effective then modifying the gel and possibly voiding the Tige warranty.
