So I just got my registration renewal in the mail for NV today. In the envelope is a change to the NV boating laws that went into effect 1 Oct 2007.
"The first change what will impact many boaters requires them to wear the engine cutoff lanyard, on equipped vessels, anytime the boat is moving faster that a no wake speed (5 mph)"
I couldn't even tell you where my lanyard is.

My boat never had a lanyard either, and when the key is in the ignition and on it is locked into the ignition and won't come out with a lanyard anyway, you have to physically turn the key back to the left to pull it out, just like a car.....It does say on the new lanyard law "on equipped vessels" so I assume it doesn't apply if you aren't equipped with a lanyard system? Anyone have any clarity on this subject??
