it happens more than you or i for that matter could ever imagine i found a site that was filled with shots of broken wedges i would guess 80% had no prop or shaft damage. i dont know if its due to the angle of the boat while the wedge is down or what but they do get tore off alot. never like the idea at all just seems way to unsafe.

Oh I know that it's probably someones full time job to read every word that's posted on this site... I'm just surprised I didn't hear from them directly because let's face it, what happened to me doesn't happen every day...Originally posted by da.bell View PostThey have
They just view our threads and see what comments and problems that we have had and attempt to correct them.
So, don't think for one minute that they haven't.

There is no doubt that the wedges break all the time, but I think they almost never tear the transom without having other very significant underwater gear damage.Originally posted by kko View Postit happens more than you or i for that matter could ever imagine i found a site that was filled with shots of broken wedges i would guess 80% had no prop or shaft damage. i dont know if its due to the angle of the boat while the wedge is down or what but they do get tore off alot. never like the idea at all just seems way to unsafe.Be excellent to one another.

I remember seeing one on WW last year that the wedge was torn off with no evidence of a strike. So the opinion was that it was due to a hard/hi-speed turn.Originally posted by talltigeguy View PostThere is no doubt that the wedges break all the time, but I think they almost never tear the transom without having other very significant underwater gear damage.
It took out 2 chucks of the transom from where the wedge bolted up across to the exhaust holes.
It was UGLY

It is what it is. It is to bad that they get all bent out of shape about it. Bu's are nice boats. They will have to live with all the frustration and aggravation if they so choose to let it bother them. As for me I just chuckle and laugh because I know the truth. Laughter is good every now and then.Originally posted by chpthril View PostDont know who will be next but cant wait to see.
