i pull my rz2 with a 2002 grans cherokee with the straight 6.....no problems, just when i get to the hills a little but, but around dc dont have to worry about it

I had a Grand Cherokee with straight 6 and was good for just under 4000lbs with equalizing hitch. It could maintain 45-50 on long grade hills but coming down it did get pushed a little with drum breaks on the single axle trailer that never worked. that never worked.

I replaced the straight 6 Grand Cherokee with the 4.7 @#% HP V8 and never had an issue with towing the Four Winns I had that loaded for vacation over 4000lbstotsl ( the boat was a giant trunk). I also hauled the Maristar (23 ft) with the GC and it never had a pushing problem because it had dual disks on the trailer. I still have this for short hauls and playing in snow,mud,rain.

I would not pull a Tige 24VE or the RZ4 with a GC but my Expedition would handle them.

I would agree that an Expedition would handle a 24Ve That is exactly what I am pulling mine with.

I used a 99 Yukon 4x4 5.7L, 2003 Chevy 1500 with 4.8L and a 07 duramax 4x4 to pull our 24v. Although all worked with no problems nothing can compete with the duramax.

Surprisingly the 4.8L Chevy pulled better then the 5.7 Yukon IMO

All right... New tow Vehicle purchased today...

2008 Infiniti QX56... We bought it used with 6,500 miles... It is loaded and absolutely perfect... Wife feels it's a little too big but I say it fits in the garage so it's not too big...



I'll take some better pictures this weekend...

Nice, I just got my titan for christmas, same engine/trans as the QX56 and I love how it hauls. Also the '08 titan/armada/qx56 got the largest brakes they have put in a truck yet and that is where I really find value in a tow vehicle, I could care less how fast it gets it going, all I want to know is that it will stop me.

Just traded my F-250 Power Stroke for a F-150 Had to it was headed out of warranty and that 6.0 would have cost me big time! I'll miss that truck alot.....We'll have to see if Ford comes out with a reliable one in the future....that 6.4 is not the best either I've heard. That 150 tows like a champ though....we'll have to see how it pulls the 22i.

Sorry you had to get rid of the diesel I absolutely love my GMC Sierra LBZ with the allison tranny it pulls my 5th wheel/jetski (triple tow) like its nothing so I know I wont have an issue with the Z1. But for camping My wifes Yukon will be pulling the Z1 and I am sure that V8 wont have an issue either.
I hear ya on the ford diesel it is a serious problem with those 6.0, but you will save alot of money now going to a V8 as diesel (at least around here) is crazy expensive still compared to gas...remeber when it used to be the other way around...geez oh well.

Thanks guys... It's raining here today so no pix yet... I want to go grab the boat and drive it around the block just to see how she pulls... I'm super excited...

I have some work to do this weekend in the garage but hopefully I'll have a few spare minutes to go grab the boat (It's only a mile away) and take some pix... Actually the wife "NEEDS" to get some towels out that we left in the boat after taking it out last weekend so if it's not raining it's on like donkey kong...

Incidentally I need to pick up a sleeve and ball to tow... Dealer wanted a small fortune... Anyone know where I can get something decent? I'd like to find something local like at a Wal-mart or Autozone or somewhere like that... Harbor Freight? Any advice would be appreciated...

depending on the drop wal-mart and autozone has them. I got mine at a local trailer supply store.

u-haul has them to. I just don't know how much of a drop you need.
