    Tower switchout

    Has anyone switched out their tower? I am not a fan of the Metcraft tower on my 2004 (see pic) and I was curious what would be involved. The biggest issue I can see is finding a tower that will fit the mount holes in the boat. Probably could not be done, especially since I would want a swoop type tower. I guess I would have to get the holes filled in and then the new tower mounted. I really like the Samson towers that are on some of the newer Tige's and I have seen one on a '04 Riders like I have and it looked sweet. I would also consider the Tige towers that they put on the 2005 22/24 V's, the one that looks like the E tower they have now.

    DISCLAIMER: I doubt this is in my budget for this year or next, just something to think about in the off season.

    Not sure how close the footprint of the 04 Metcrap is to the 05 (22V) Tige E, but CP3 swapped out his Tige tower for a Sampson. Very little drilling and NO glass work. It was a real simple swap. All you need are 3 helpers to muscle the old tower off and the new one on, bolt it down and wire up lights and speakers.

      yeah I'm thinking about doing a new tower this winter. Anhaney has what looks like a pretty solid one he is selling on his store

            Yep, that Samson is the one I like, that is sweet! So much better than the shimmy shaking Metcraft that I have! And yes, I make sure that all the bolts are tight. The Samson website does not have this tower listed, strange. I will email their contact and see what he says. Maybe Santa will bring me that tower for Christmas...

              I have the same tower. It pretty much stinks. My buddies always comment on the rattling and the side to side motion. Changing it is out of the question though, just the thought of that is a PITA.
              Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

                Talk to Scott at Samsom, he'll take care of you. They don't advertise the Razor Towers on their website because it's exclusive to Tige's and they kinda want to keep it that way. At least that's what they told me. I can't say enough good things about their towers, accessories, product and customer SERVICE! They are a Top Notch class act! I've had the opportunty to visit their factory and was very impressed with Scott the owner, the receptionist and the guy that fixed my speakers. Plus they had some cool apparel.

                    that must be an early 04 thats the same tower as my 03 and the other 04 i was looking at had the metcraft that looks the same but the board racks are down low. i was thinking about changing it but i love my big bimini and would hate to loose it.

                      Don't worry if the tower supports don't match up with the current ones. It's pretty cheap to get the old holes refilled to where you wouldn't even know they were there.

                            Man, I really like that tower on CP3's boat. I wonder where the bimini mounts? I did get an email back from Scott last night, I am going to call him today when I have some time and get a price. Like I said, I doubt this is in the budget this year, but it is something to shoot for, maybe late next year or 09. I have a LOT of stuff to do to my house before this gets done. Total Kitchen and bathroom remodels along with new carpet just to get started...

                              Yeah, that was me, sorry I didn't say hi. Was out with a distributor trying to game plan on a few customers. Didn't see ya. I did the winterization and parked my boat in the garage last weekend. Jones-n for next summer to get here fast. Guess I'll have to make up for it snowboarding.
                              CP3's tower is real sharp looks like factory, that gets me thinking I want to swap out my Metcrap tower also
