I love all the new chevy trucks. And the duro's are amazing.

I have Yukon XL 4wd 2500 with the 8.1. It does eat some oil, but I have been told that is normal, and there are no problems. Yes, it doesn't get the greatest mileage, but better than my 93 suburban 2500 with the 454 before it. Unless I am going up a decent hill, It doesn't even barely notice. I have a sierra with a 5.3, and I have to turn tow/haul on and it needs it. I almost don't ever turn tow/haul on on my Yukon. I also have a 27 foot travel trailer, a 2007 Pioneer 27FQS, and it tows it also extremely well. I live in the mountains, so every ride home from the lake is up a steep grade. Every camping trip the same. I have never had a vehicle that has towed as well as it has.Originally posted by evil0ne View PostI have an 03 Suburban with the 8.1L and I wouldn't say you don't notice it is back there. It struggles with my boat on the drive to Echo from time to time. Gets about 9-10 while towing too. It also eats some oil. How about yours? I know part of the problem is that it has the 3.73 and not the 4.11 gears. Do you have the 4.10?http://wake9.com/

I'm guessing you have the 4.10 gears which helps quite a bit. I'd like to tow with a regular Suburban to see the difference but I can't complain about the ride with the AutoRide and the heavy duty brakes and oil cooler seem to be worth it.Originally posted by ragboy View PostI have Yukon XL 4wd 2500 with the 8.1. Yes, the autoride is great, and I probably don't need brakes on my boat with this thing.Originally posted by evil0ne View PostI'm guessing you have the 4.10 gears which helps quite a bit. Yeah, I have always liked the GMCs better. All my trucks have been GMC.Originally posted by Ruune View PostI agree... mines an '07 GMC Sierra SLT (yes, leather buckets) Z71 4x4. I went with the 5.3L in a 1/2 ton. I like the front-end better on the GMC. Gotta love 60 mos @ 0%APR!
Now I need a matching boat...

I got mine in August, and it was mfg'd in Dec of last year. I believe it was the only SLT they had. 535 miles on the odo. I wasnt interested in any of the other color/drivetrain combinations, and it was initially out of my price range.. but it was the end of the month and coming up on the end of the quarter, so they cut the price substantially.
Bottom line though, I love everything about this truck. If something happened to it, I'd get another one just like it. Oh- OnStar is the shizzle, and since I started listening to XM, I've hardly listened to our local radio. Funny thing though... my mom took it for a drive and when I asked her how she liked it, she said "MINE!!!" So I said "You want the payment too?"

Chevy/GMC had the least amount of mods to get into compliance with the new emissions systems, so no problems reported yet.
Some of the other brands are struggling with the new system.
The Allison tranny is awesome. Worth buying the truck for that alone.
Damn,, now you guys have me wanting one,,,,
