I don't have a receiver like that.... That is a very nice one I am sure... However, my receiver is about 10 years old and pumps out the audio part of the stuff great but does not connect video like HDMI or components... However, it does accept optical cords. and that is how I get the 5.1 into the receiver but I have to connect the HDMI cables to the TV for now...

Yeah, I had to do that before I upgraded to the 3808CI. Its a pain, switching on the tv, and the receiver. The denon, has one universal remote, and no needed switching on TV. So its nice.

The best universal remote is the Logitech Harmony. My wife can use it.

As for the remote, da.bell, just get the Logitech and you'll realize that your grandmother can use it.

Also, remember, that on a 50" TV, you don't even notice the difference between 720P and 1080I or P, unless you are within 6-7 ft of the TV. Here is my favorite explanation of this:

Those are life savers. My son was having to explain to my wife how to turn everything on. The logitech sets it all up so all you have to do is push a sinlge button and everything turns on and sets up.

Yeah, I am an apple fan boy, but I love the 360. I have connect 360 on my mac, and so I can stream movies to it also if I want, I use that in my office. I have a huge server in the basement with tons of movies.

I use my old XBOX for that. I hard modded it and it's running XBMC. TBs of movies from the server in the bedroom.

Well, with that chart, I don't see a difference then. We sit back more than 15 feet.
