Remove spark arrester, Start engine (with fake-a-lake going), spray fogging oil into throttle body, shut engine off, continue winterizing but make sure you don't need to start engine again.

I usually use about 1/2 a can.

Even over summer the water temp only got to 65 here in the UK,
( like normal).
Guess, weve just got used to the cooler conditions, having to wear either shorties or thicker full wetsuits when needed.
With the temps quoted, I guess you guys can do without any suit.
Although must be sore when you take a fall.
Will be winterizing in the next few weeks also here, Fog/ oil bores/ treat fuel ( stabilize) and check antifreeze etc.

Incorrect Way. WD-40 is insufficient to protect the cylinders from rust. It will drain of over the winter and expose the cylinders to moisture.

This is the correct way. Plan on replacing your spark plugs after the first start up of the year in spring. The spark plug replacement is mandatory. The fogging oil with ruin them over the winter and creates a potential for the porcelain to come apart in the cylinder causing sever damage to the engine.

Yea, I don't either cause I start my boat and use it through the winter. I did take of the board racks, speakers, and lights yesterday for the rest of the year. I need to get one more amp from SOMEONE to change the stereo around a little bit this winter and I want to get a set of the new style board racks that TIGE' is making to put on my uprights. I will also probably take my uprights of and get them sand blasted and polished rather than leaving the chipping powder coat on them.

I just winterized with smog once, and It said nothing about making spark plugs brittle. It said it makes rubber brittle.

Oh well, list of things to work on this winter time. as well as tune it.

I think you meat to say fog not smog. Maybe you meant smog because it creates a ton of smog when you start it up.

Waiting for you to have time to tune it. I have all the tools and equipment. Let me know when your ready. Although next week I will be in Hawaii all week.

You need to get it tuned before the cold water reunion.

I used a fog last year and it was an oil based product.

If we are going to tune it the only week then I can do it is week before the reunion. I'm out of town for the next two weeks.

So can you run the engine with plumbing anti-freeze in the fake a lake instead of water? Or is this a big no-no. I heard of guys winterizing this way and am not sure whether this is the best way.

YES use the RV Antifreeze though. The stuff they use in the fresh water systems in RVs. If you use regular antifreeze you will destroy the rubber seals in your system.
