Looking to buy the 22ve

Im looking to buy the 22ve how is it? How much for a fully loaded one.

Hows the 20v? is it worth moving to the 22ve?

I have had a 2007 22VE for the season. what can I say, it's been a awesome boat. We put 58 hours on it and did not have any issues at all. Ours was fully loaded except for the internal ballast. The overall layout of the boat is great, tons of room, supreme handling ( both in rough and smooth water) the wake was very good with or without ballast, tons of storage. the Tige speedset is great, I personally like the 2007 dash ( same as RZ2 ) with the LCD.

I have a RZ2 for the 2008 season, I went with the RZ2 mostly because of the extra room in the bow, this one was also ordered with internal ballast.

In the 22VE I used fatsacs ( Vdrive bags and the integrated bow sac) which worked great at really dialing in the wake.

A few friends have the 20V as well and have nothing bad to say about the boat, it has great storage and the superb tige handling.

I guess you shouldn't get the 6.0L MP engine and the Perfect Pass together. There seems to be a problem with that combination.

From your question, sounds like you are sold on a Tige and just trying to decide on a 20 or 22 ft Tige. For water sports, handling, ride, options, etc, you cant go wrong with either one, but the ??? is which one will be a better fit for the family.

We came out of an 18ft bow rider to the 22Ve. I just knew that the 20, although 2ft longer with more over-all interior space, was not going to be big enough for us in the long run. Glad we did, don't regret it at all.

I'd say YES, the 22VE is worth the extra coin, but If the budget is tight, I'd say go with more boat with less bling, and add the bells and whistles over the next couple of season. We like to see and hear about boat projects and up-grades

The bottom line is that the 20V is Tige's entry level V-Drive, same as their 20i for direct drives.

The combination of the Convex V hull and TAPS appears to work best on their 22' models. Aside from the improved ride and handling, there are many nice features on the 22Ve that you don't get on the 20V.

That's not to say that the 20' models aren't nice, it's just the 22' models are definitely better.

IMO, get the biggest boat you can. Saves money later on when you decided to take more people out only to find out that the maximum occupancy rate is 9.

not an issue if you looking at an 07 or 08 only 06 had this problem.

If you are upgrading, go big! Do the 22Ve. The space and storage is great in this boat. I upgraded from a 19' and the extra room is great, there is plenty of room for our usuall 4 or 5 and the dog, it's nice having room to move around. I am not sure what the cost difference is, the fully blinged one would be pushin 60k or more, maybe.
