My sticker I believe says 12 people or 1760 pounds and another 2000# for gear. I never have my boat even close to that.

I think that the Ve has extra foam or something that gives it more buoyancy so that increases the capacity.
I did not read the link, but I understand that the essence of the placard is that the boat is buoyant enough to support that many people hanging on for life once the boat is full of water, or capsized.Be excellent to one another.

True, but again we don't have the U.S. Coast Guard hanging around the lakes very often. You do see them in the rivers in CA though. I would think this branch would be the enforcers of weighting of a boat.Originally posted by dogbert View PostAnd my point was that I've never seen any enforcement organization bust someone here for putting too much weight in a performance towboat.

I always have to laugh about the fire extinguisher request. True Story. One time I was out riding my Kawasaki 650SX and got stopped by the Parks and Wildlife police. They asked to see my fire extinguisher. I couldn't seem to get the compartment open (which is mounted into the side of the engine compartment, yet accessible from the outside). They gave me a bunch of grief about how I should fix it and that they would let me go this time. I pointed out to them that the last thing I would be doing is swimming toward a burning jetski to get the fire extinguisher and put the fire out. I told them that I thought that was probably dangerous. They thought about it for a few seconds and said "I see your point, don't worry about it then."Originally posted by spharis View PostAnd fire extinguishers
