I just wanted to centralize the whole fuel gauge not working on brand new boats. I know, myself, and at least 3 other 22Ve owners, have taken delivery of our brand new boats and had the fuel gauge not work. I just wanted to get a general consensus of whose fuel gauges are working and whose aren't.. and what you did to fix it if you were able to. Supposedly, from what I have read on here, the 2007 model fuel gauge is SUPPOSED to be pretty darn accurate. (once it works) Any info?

So far mine is very accurate. I normally throw the boat in reverse from idle, for a split second, and watch the fuel gauge. That's the only way I can get a close to accurate reading. Mine is an '06 though.Comment

Define not working...
Is it just not accurate? or is it completely wrong? ( example, you know your empty but it still shows 1/2 full?)
My gauge, seems to work fine but I have not pushed either limit yet ( full tank or empty tank) should I be looking for something?Tige owner since 2006Comment

Although mine is an 06, I had a new sending unit installed under warranty in Feb, And let my tell you.......this thing is almost as accurate as an automobile gauge.
Now, while cruising @ any speed above "no wake" it will show "full" until it reaches 1/2 tank or less, then it is fairly accurate down to empty. I know this because I ran it till the engine bobbled, on purpose, just to see. When I filled up, it took 35 gals. This is just how a boat should work. It's the nature of the beast.

We filled our 22Ve up w/ about 25 gallons and took her out. needle never rose above empty. tapped on the gauge (per advice from others) and still nothing. It's going back to the dealer in a week and a half for a couple small things so hopefully they fix it. Mine doesn't work. I show half tank at full, and empty, when the tank is half full. I called my dealer, and he said they are all like that, and its just the way it is. I didn't like the answer, and I my last 2 boats had tanks in the same place, and the guage floated alot, but idleing level it worked. Due to the shape and location of the tank, float and sending unit, the guages are not able to read correctly 100% of the time. This is not just a Tige issue.Common Sense is not so Common

Ragboy- I totally agree w/ you that the answer your dealer gave you was kinda bs. That's why I started this thread b/c I wanted to see how people got their gauges fixed.
Zad- I totally understand that gauges are not able to be ready correctly 100% of the time. My problem is that mine doesn't work at all. I am new to Tige, but not new to boating. And other boats I have used/owned, the guages pretty well when floating level. I don't mind that it is innacurate when moving around, or even innacurate, but its not even in vicinity. When I get to half a tank, it just shows empty, and I have no idea where I am, just have to watch my hours. I expect a gauge to be all over the map when riding around, or bow up, I understand that. Just because it seems to be a common problem for Tige boats, doesn't mean it shouldn't be resolved. And it's not "picky" if there are 6 people on here (going off of current poll) that have '07s that aren't having fuel gauge problems. Obviously it isn't everyone that is having a problem so if you are experiencing a problem, your dealer should fix it. I'm hoping mine does when I take it to them next week...If you ain't falling.. you ain't trying hard enough..Comment

One sure way of knowing how much gas you use is to watch the hours. I typically use the equation of 6 gallons per hour.
I know that your gas gauge should tell you how much fuel you have but this is just another way to know.Comment
