Someone has a sweeeet K5 that goes up to Horsetooth. He put the newer fuel injected big block in it and 4L60E, sooo nice. I think for the distances you will be pulling that you should be fine. You won't be pulling at 75mph up I-25 though!

I picked up the K5 last night. It has a class III hitch on so I'll be fine to get started. The body has some rust on it and isn't the prettiest looking blazer out there but it will do the job.Originally posted by Timmy! View PostSomeone has a sweeeet K5 that goes up to Horsetooth. I've already started thinking about the mods I can do to it. Might make it a small project car for myself, you know to work on in the winter when its not towing my boat
. I was thinking about a fuel injected engine or at least a big block. We'll see it only takes money right
! Once I get the Tige out here I will have to look for the other K5 at Horsetooth and see if he has any connections.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions, help and support. I think it really would have killed me if I had to sell my baby! And believe it or not but my wife has actually gotten supportive of keeping it.
Now i just need to see how much money she'll let me sink into the Blazer.Last edited by five o'clock; 05-24-2007, 03:55 PM.

Those big blazers have cheap body parts. I bought a 2wd one a few years back and got new fenders and doors for only a couple hundred bucks! Collins collision products sells the parts too I think. Just be careful, they can become money pits very quickly!
I will keep an eye out for you at Horsetooth and Boyd! Glad to hear that you are keeping the boat!
Here's my old 2wd Blazer after I lowered it: http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1..._Side_View.jpg
never got to finish it as I blew the motor in my Corvette and had to put $$ into it.Last edited by Timmy!; 05-24-2007, 04:08 PM.

problem is not the towing, it's just your going to get beaten up by the boat while towing with this rig. I had one and yes it towed it fine, but the boat really pulls you all over the road. I got tired of fighting, and bought a diesel. Just my

I will keep it in mind when I get ready to tow. My first trip will be from Michigan to Colorado. I'll get pulled all over the road in at least 5 states!
Should be fun!
