Ha, I did the same thing. First day out and left the flag and the camera at home. Probably the worst first day out I've ever had, but that's a different story. In the end, the Double O purred like a kitten (almost) and we all got out for pull and a cruise.

Haha! My brother-in-law did the same thing, left the flag home! Luckily the other boat with us had an extra.

Dom, there is Lake Isabella and then there is another one that the drag boats use. Then there is another one towards Taft.... There are a few but your are right, Bakersfield is in the middle of no where. I lived there on and off from 1 grade to 9th grade.....

You think the leaving the flag at home is bad. We went on a dealership Tige camping trip last (about 30 tiges where out) September and the damn flag was stole from our boat. We were fortunate enough to get 15% off the purchase of another flag... This time we bought two and one of them is in hiding....

Wind can be a problem. I only know that it's up there and I know it is very windy in the valley that runs up there. The Kern River doesn't flow enough to put a boat into it.... Seems like they keep it at 2-4 feet deep.

That would suck!!!!! I had to pull over on the way to the lake thinking that I forgot to put the children vests in the boat. The good thing here is that I already put them in. I just had a senior moment thinking that I didn't....

We left the flag home once. Tied one of the coast guard orange vests to an oar. Worked perfectly. Nobody wanted to be the flag holder though - I wonder why.
