In your scenario where the amp and enclosure type would not change, simply upgrading from a 10" woofer to a 12" woofer, is right at 50% more driver surface area. That equals more moving air, bass output. As to being more in balance with a pair of high output HLCD tower speakers, this would be a mater of perspective. The closer you are to the woofer, then the answer would be yes. Further from the woofer, as in surfing, then the perspective of balance diminishes.
