New to the forum and hopefully will be back if I buy a 1997 pre2200wt v-drive. It is in good shape but the rudder is loose so I was wondering what it will take to fix it. I have done some research and lots of good posts on rudder but nothing that dials me into this boat. How hard is it to get to the rudder to remove and repack? With the motor back there it seems kind of tough to reach. I did see one post was even having trouble greasing the rudder.
Wondering if this will need to be a dealer fix or I can do it. I am pretty handy just rebuilt a 1982 honda v45 motor bike and have the tools. However, I am getting to that point as well where some jobs are just left to the pro's.
