All this talk of lead lately...anyone ever put 50lb'ers in the activity lockers on the back/transom of a Z3/Z1? Can they hold them without cracking gel coat?

I have a R20 and I have 160 in the back locker. No issues.
I did have 200, but does better with the extra 40 to surf side.Last edited by Ironrequiem; 07-04-2018, 01:21 PM.

a little off topic, but because of the amt of ballast, i get water in the lockers no matter what technique i use when easing off the throttle. so not sure id put lead in mine. i put those little foam earplugs in the drain, just to keep water out of the bilge. a lot seems to build up before it gets high enough for the pumps to kick in.

Sounds like you already have plenty of ballast in those compartments! Sweet deal. Kinda like that RamFill thing on the Centurion.Originally posted by cnote View Posta little off topic, but because of the amt of ballast, i get water in the lockers no matter what technique i use when easing off the throttle. so not sure id put lead in mine. i put those little foam earplugs in the drain, just to keep water out of the bilge. a lot seems to build up before it gets high enough for the pumps to kick in.
