I would replace the housing as it looks burnt and pitted. It ran on the hose because the hose had pressure forcing water into the system.

Quick update, old blue is in the water and running great. Was able to get j hose for water pump and raw water pickup hose at autozone. Order sierra plastic hosing and impeller kit and install went pretty smooth. Thanks again for all the help from the forum. On the lift with canopy on. Happy boating!
