I used to love watching the surfers at the pipeline when we lived there. Nothing though matches there sheer thrill of watching the locals at Waimea Bay when the 30-35 footers roll in 
Only the best of the best take these monsters on as they will kill you!

I would have loved to have seen Waimea that big, I heard from my friend that yesterday Waimea was 15 feet and growing. Suppose to get bigger by Christmas.

Yeah it's something to see. You'd never believe anyone would attempt to ride those but they do. There's a big rock right in the middle of the bay and unless you know it's there, well you get the drift. It only last's a couple months if i remember right, the rest of the year it's like butter! I used to go diving there in the "off" season!
