Bigger guys that can service well, have a good inventory of boats and gear and can focus on boats seems to be the secrete sauce. Also need to located near enough to a lake and wealthy enough population area. I don't even bother going to the "XX Motorsports" type dealers. Motorcycles and boats from the same dealer? Realty?

A good dealer by a good lake will sell a lot of boats. Lake Pueblo is over-run with late model Moomba and Supra. Likely due to ROMOBOCO...which is a pretty decent dealer. Too bad I'm not really interested in any of the Supra Surf barges.

I would say Ski Dock here in Austin fits all that criteria and they are still dropping Tige.

My local dealer who I have known for 20 years said Tige keeps raising the quota, the # of boats they have to buy each year. Other manufactures have a smaller quota.

I just took delivery of a new SE. These "Supra Surf barges" can straight up HUNT. Don't pass up a chance to ride behind one done right.

Agreed Dakota,
Our salesman was rocking an SA this summer and it's impressive. Not only great waves, but great wake as well for those trying to go big. Price point doesn't hurt AS much either.

I haven't taken many, had it for 2 days! This one is cool though of my buddy's little shredder son.

Second pic is me, 6'3" and 225# literally standing back there not pumping. It's really astounding.

I do not know if Tige has dealer issues any more than any other mfg. They all do some switching from time to time. There probably is not a scientific answer available, but it does seem that Tige has had more troubles maintaining long established dealer presences.

For Utah and Nevada, it has been a problem. Salt Lake City has had more Tige dealers in the last ten years than anyone. MC, Nautique and Malibu have all had the exact same dealerships in those 10 years. Germaine finally seems to be a stable presence and they seem to be selling boats, which will hopefully make them stick. I don't think any of the others moved boats very well. The Las Vegas dealer lost their dealership after the recession and then there has been a huge void ever since.

Has Germaine opened an official shop in Vegas? Will they? The Tige website needs some updating since they list Offshore Marine still as the only dealer in Vegas.

Sorry...I wasn't clear. I really like the Supra line. They just seem to be more Surf oriented than i want out of a boat. I also consider the G series surf barges. I think a solid surf/wake, ski and crossover lineup is a big draw. Prob too late to get into the slalom game with Bu, natique and MC owning that. I think each brand should have a solid, well marketed crossover line that weighs less than 3500-4000 lbs, isn't weight sensitive, handles like a Ferrari and is decidedly NOT a surf boat. Just my opinions.

Drove he SE home this morning at 33 mph. Very skiable wake.

Wakeboard wake is gorgeous.

PS: nobody slaloms anymore.

Look at the type of dealer off shore was prior to picking up tige, and see how long they lasted and how many boats they sold. I think the only tiges they sold was their 2 year old "new" inventory off to another dealer (was it Boulder Boats?) Off shore half-assed sponsored the event one year. Now, look at Germain's approach to the tow boat market. The difference is obvious.

Isn't this the same model that ragboy also switched to, the SE? Did you go with the 575 or the 440? If you went with the 440 how do you think it performs so far in that big of a boat? I am also looking at new boats and have not looked at supras yet but maybe I should take a peek.

My local Tige dealer is on a big lake with money around it....every other boat brand is also in this area and he is doing very well. He has sold every one of his boats except one so far this year. I have a different brand (not Tige I mean) and still take my boat to him for service and warranty work cause I like him the best (he used to sell my brand so manufacture was ok with him doing the warranty work). I am sure that is one reason he does well tho, likable, good customer service and he loves to talk, lol. He also "lives" the lifestyle, puts on surf events, takes people out a couple times a week and knows his stuff...sure that makes a big difference in sales.

440 at 1100' and it's plenty with the 2775 prop.

I've got two Tige dealers within about 40 miles of me in North Alabama.

One sells farm equipment and Tige.

The other has a board shop, sells other boats, is near the lake, etc...

Which one do you think will be successful? Personally, I think Tige just doesn't vet their dealers very well and that is why you get some mismatches...

Tige Vets the dealers. When you are bringing people on board to sell your brand, you cant make the process difficult to the point where people say forget it. They can only take people at their word if that makes any sense in regards to business operation.

I dont think Tige is the problem in a majority of this...but thats just my .02. As Mike so kindly pointed out in his example, the approach is just different with the dealers that are thriving especially Germaine . I don't need to spell out that in all of this, dealers have to be making some money, however that isn't the sole driving force. I can tell you that from Tige (Chase as the WC Rep) to Noah Germaine and then on down the line, we are super passionate here. Doesn't mean we are always going to be perfect and or not have a big screw up from time to time but what that does mean is that we will try and go way above the norm to make sure people are happy. It wont always work out, but whether it be sending a mechanic to the water to help you, or spending hours on the phone late at night getting your surf wave dialed for the next morning its what we are all about. We want to change the game with Tige leading the way.

Its happening... I spent time over the weekend with every major MFG over the weekend head to head and couldn't be happier with where Tige is. Room for improvement? Absolutely, but Tige is definitely at the front of the pack with lots of throttle left.

I dont know where I was going with this... I tend to ramble late at night.

Oh, Dakota... stop posting pictures of your supra wave on here, it sucks Jk. I saw pictures of your boat and its beautiful and the wave isnt half bad either.....
