    Boat Lift Motor Battery Charger

    Hey guys,

So this past summer a friend of mine gave me his 12v boat lift motor to use on my lift. I have been using the boat batteries to power the motor, plugging in and unplugging the cable every time I want to use the motor.

I just purchased a battery which I plan to dedicate to the lift motor, along with a tray to hold the battery on the lift and a battery box. With use of this battery, obviously it will need a charge.

My question is, what would be the the best charger to use for this battery? I would like to keep a charger hooked up all summer basically hard wired to the battery so I don't have to mess with it. I do have 120v power at the lift which I use for my onboard charger on the Tigé. Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated and thanks in advance!

I get that the motor was a freebie, but if you already have power at the slip wouldn't it just be easier and less hassle in the long run to get a different motor and convert to 110v for a couple hundred bucks?.
