Every Alpha E2 tower I've seen is black. Even the build sheet doesn't list any color options....wish they had just made it silver instead of black....don't have to worry about silver flaking off :-)

One of the first things I am going to do is get the gray panels painted green to match the boat. Then eventually add white tower speakers sometime soon.

I know he said back ballast 100 percent and front around 15-20 percent. I'm not sure what the total weight is. It has surf xl ballast. Which on 16's is 2500. But if it changed on 17's hopefully it's around 2800

Just got confirmation it has 2600. And no in floor tanks.

So up 200 from last year. I'm guessing 900 in the rear and 800 up front still.

Z3CO23 That is correct. 900 each rear, 400 each front. With Taps 3 and upgraded ballast I should feel a big difference in boat. From my 13 Z1 that is. On second thought I have no clue if front are separate bags still. They were on my 13, but who knows now.

Awesome, your gonna enjoy it, Taps 3 is great. I'm sure there are still seperate bags. I'm not sure they could get an adequate sized triangle bag up there. Congrats on the new purchase

Awesome. Seems like it took forever for you to upgrade!

I'll be watching to see how you like TAPS3. As a former '13 Z1'er I'll be looking to see how you feel it compares. I'm on the fence about whether or not to mod mine to a TAPS3 or to go with my homemade system. Please keep me updated.

Johnnie, from the short amount of time I've spent on the new boat I can tell you the Taps 3 is legit. Unless your the type of guy that just enjoys tinkering I would just ditch your vx, slap taps 3 on and call it a day.

Sigh.... The wave shape from listing a boat requires less fuel, less weight and will provide you with more push... This surf "gimmick" is nice to have when you have riders on each side that you want to change but again is still a Gimmick! I would gladly stack my AVX wave up against any Z3/Z1 Taps3

Greeko, I've never been around the avx. I'm sure it surfs great as well. I was just an old school list the boat type of guy up until last Thursday, and that always got me by. But gimmick or not the taps 3 is effective.
