If you want to really have fun try this...
Man those are fun to ride! I have only gotten to go a couple of times. I would buy one, but I have way exceeded my toy budget this year with a boat, a wakeboard for everyone in the family, kneeboard for the kids... the list seems to go on and on.

Use the power of squat! When I was learning how to get up, I tried to get up like a slalom ski, point the board out of the water and fight like he**. I saw a video in a sports store and how they squatted and let the board go under water. The board slowly comes up and it is easy! I find that it is easier to teach people how to get up by going slower at first.

Re: What's the best way to learn how to wakeboard?
The best way I have witnessed is a friend with an old Malibu (soon to be a Tige owner, he just doesn't know it yet) had a boom (often called a barefoot boom) on his boat. He taught my wife in 20 minutes. She had tried a bunch of times behind the boat with no success. She got up 2 or 3 times holding on to the boom, then on a 5' rope with a handle a few times and then long line. It was amazing to watch and they could coach her while she was holding the boom. I would highly recommend it for anyone who is having a hard time getting up on a wake board. Once you get the "feel" its cake after that. The other thing is that pulling a wakeboard is more like pulling a kneeboard than it is like pulling a slalom skier. At least form the drivers standpoint.. Thats my .02Originally posted by Ponch

I have taught 2 different people who could never get up before. They were former waterskiers and would just drag like an anchor. I told them both to just let the boat pull them clear over on their face the next pull. The expression on their faces were priceless as they each got up on their next try.
