Wave looks sick... I just ordered 800 LBS of leadwwake. Can't wait to see the difference. We have a really good wave when I have 6 adults, but when it's just my wife and I it's not very good.

@elevated, There you go man, that looks great, and more like the Z3 wakes I am used to.
Here is the thing, every wake has a "sweet spot" for weight. It is the point where the wake is long, yet still has a lot of push. The wake is big, but not so much weight in the rear over the front that you are still long. And on the Z3, there is a point where you put to much weight in the back and you create a hole or trough right behind the swim step that will suck your board in and turn you in to a pearl diver. ;-)
Weight up front will help with the length and the transition, and weight in the back gives you the height and the power. That is why I say, put as much weight up front as you feel safe, I never felt safe with more than about 1100 and maybe a small person. Then weight the back down til you find that magic spot.
The Z3 is one of those boats that makes a wake that will always put a smile on your face when you get it. And then, when you get used to it, it will be rock solid and easy to find every time you go out.
Some people thing, I just want to put in more weight until the boat sinks, but that is not it. its that sweet spot. Its so fun to find and its so beautiful. Of course, I am a nut.
And then there is the RZX. This beast is a combination of monstrous displacement and an amazing hull that has an incredibly well shaped wake an amazing transition. We are working on a new video and I use some drone footage and you can really see how the front end just plows the water out and helps create that smooth transition. The wake is huge, but it should be, because we are displacing approx 11.5k lbs. The boat is 6k dry. Add tower speakers, gear, you are at least at 6500. We have 2 500 lb bags in the corners and 200 lbs of lead in the bow. So that is 3k stock plus 1200. Add 1000 for people and incidentals, that is over 11.5k lbs. And yet, with the SC 575 motor, I can get a rider up front a stand still and to a full formed wake ready to rock in 12 seconds, at 12MPH for the speed. It will also plan if I empty the P&P bags, so full ballast and people plus 200 lbs up front, just no PNP bags, and it planes to 24MPH in 25 seconds.
And the cost? We are averaging just over 7GPH when we surf, with just regular 87 unleaded. 7GPH with all that motor?! Just too much fun. Here is a sneak peak of some screenshots of video.
That last picture shows why I love Lake Oroville, especially on a weekday. You see any other boats?http://wake9.com/

Come up for a ride, any time.
@carfanatic, its funny, the wake is BIG, and you really notice when riders fall. 2 times yesterday, riders got the wind knocked out of them because they are falling from a good distance. When you fall from the top of that wake, or from an air, it can hurt if you are landing on your face.http://wake9.com/

Yeah I think you will be ecstatic. I think this boat needs 500 a corner additional to really be solid with a light crew...
Im using the 800 solely in the rear now. I by no means know if it is safe or will damage the boat because I have not contacted Tige to ask yet but we ran 200 of the lead split up evenly in the rear little cooler/locker compartments yesterday..... with the remaining 600 split in the rear most part of the lockers. Seems to be ideal with us when we go out just two of us total. I would think that if the boat is full we will need to put people in the bow or take 200 of the lead that we are stowing in the rear little deck lockers and move that to the bow but we will cross that bridge when we get there. For now, its dialed and huge and long at 11.0-12.0 mph....

Dont quote me, and I dont know the exact engineering idea behind it, but I believe it delays convergence on the opposite side you are surfing. It crabs the boat and lists it over at the same time as well. Its weighted level at rest and when deployed the boats leans anywhere from 3-7 degrees depending on how much plate you are using...Germaine Marine

@elevated You probably should be careful putting the lead in those activity center compartments, if that is what you mean. The best place would be spread out in the rear locker on the bottom under the sack.
Also, be careful if you tow with that in there, too much weight in the rear of the boat can cause serious issues towing. You many already take care of that, just saying...http://wake9.com/

I have put lead in there before. It does work, but those compartments are not built for that kind of weight, bounce around and keep them in there, and I don't think they are going to take it. I have been under those and drilled holes through them for cables for broadcasting at the events. They are strong and well built, but that is pushing it. ;-)http://wake9.com/

@ragboy, sounds like they may have made some changes to that compartment In 16, here is a screen grab from engineering....

Sounds like it can take my weight standing in it... Meaning 100 lbs plus...Germaine Marine
