Bending the wakesurf tower rack

My wakesurf board is about a 1/2" too thick to fit in these racks. Anyone have any luck bending the opening of a rack like this to fit a larger board? Bad idea? Thanks 1003-2.jpg

AL doesn't bend well, greater chance of breaking/fractures. I though about doing this in the past and decided against it, and just pay the money for new fingers through either big air or krypt. I am surprised that with the board rack pictured that your wakesurf doesn't fit it looks like wakesurf spacing.

I think duffy might have cut out the middle fork and put foam to protect the board on the fingers. Not sure if it was Duffy but I definitely remember someone modding up the racks to work with fragile bigger boards.

Trim it a "1/2 on the top six e is not much no weight there or put a surf pocket in your Bimini. Then post about your experience. Oh and pictures.

Check out Duffy's mod of his rack in the picture. HE added PVC and dakine pads to protect the board.

I did the same thing on mine for my wakeskate, worked great. I used a small noodle though, same results and saved me $50 which i happily put in the gas tank.
