So I thought I drained all the water last fall - Help!

Well. I ground everything down and cleaned it up with acetone about three times then applied QuickSteel epoxy putty. The results are pictured below.
Has run perfectly the last few weekends (knock on wood). I keep checking the bulge and the oil expecting to see water in both, but has been flawless.
Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and for saving me thousands of $$$ and my summer!

You should be good. Boat cooling is not under pressure like a car system.

The most it might need to hold back is 5-10# of pressure so I hope you're right.

Thanks for the follow up post as it actually helps folks out know what you found and resolved to correct or in your case band-aid the problem. You have got to have a bit of relief......

Great to hear that you were able to fix the issue without a new engine. I noticed that stuff says "3 year shelf life". Does that mean it only works for 3 years or you can keep the tube of stuff for 3 years?

Keep the tube for three years.
