    2015 Boat Buyers Guide

    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6g...vhAw/playlists

I gotta say I am pretty disappointed Tige didn't make sure to have boats there to test. They've only included the Green Z3 and Brown ASR in 2015 advertising so that tells me they haven't built any other brochure boats. Actually, they still have 2014 brochure boats on the website for several models. Tige comes out with great video's in the last couple days about Touch 2 and AVX but don't make sure to have models available for Wakeboard Mag to test head to head with your biggest competitors.

Makes it hard to defend the brand against people in other boating communities that bash Tige for "trying to play with the big wakeboat companies."

I've heard and read the RZ series is amazing with the AVX as well but no video from Tige..... all the other brands seems to be able to attach video of all of their boats with the latest technology when they advertise them for sale.

    Rant over..... I'm annoyed.

Question , do you put much value in the guide , if yes, what , check any one of the test and tell me what do they say that would sway you toward that boat, they all have great storage and control and wakes , so for me im still going to check them all out and try and demo each one , I dont care what they show in the guide.

I used to enjoy getting the wakeboard mag guide as a separate issue each year as it was great bathroom reading, but online I don't think I'll ever view it. As Dom mentioned, being in the market in '12 for a new boat, I relied more on going to dealers and didn't even look at the guide. the last time I remember looking at it, the reviews were all pretty positive and didn't really pick the boats apart. rose colored glasses if you will....

The wakeboard mag boat guide is worthless as far as giving any real reviews on boats. It's basically a PR opportunity for the manufacturers to show their boats glamorized in an industry magazine, and a marketing opportunity for the mag to say they have a "review" issue. Notice they are never critical about anything in any boat.

That being said, it is great boat porn. On some level it is nice to have a place to see all the boats in a similar context.

If i remember correctly, boats will be added to this list as they become available. So if you do not see a particular boat today, you might see them in a few weeks or so.

Like the last 3 have said. I work in an industry that is heavily supported by "research", mainly from Universities. With a few exceptions - very few - in the last 18 years, the research that I have seen published, typically is in favor of those sponsoring the research. In other words, if you pay for results, you will get results as a good researcher can make most claims happen by understanding the desired end result and setting protocol accordingly. OK, I realize this is not research, but it IS about $$$. I am willing to bet that as each boat is provided for "testing" a check is provided along with it. Positive feedback looks good for any manufacturer and will lead to more SOLD boats and as mentioned the "buyers guide" leads to more hits on their site as well as more publications sold and most likely with higher add revenue than a traditional issue. Hopefully this will be the end of this sort of negative vibe for me today

They should call it boat raves instead of reviews. These guides only tell the positive of each model. Based on the fact the don't want to make any manufacturer unhappy and lose their ad dollars. Every boat has a few negatives or draw backs no matter how awesome it is. But you won't see any of that. It would at least be useful if they did their own testing, but they mostly don't. Notice the weights and speeds among other things are right off the brand web pages/ brochures. To me at least having real world trailer/ boat weights might make it somewhat useful. Basically it seems like they are posting mostly what you can see in the manufacturers brochures!

Just Tige is choosing to put their money for advertising in other places. I am sure that word of mouth is the best advertising. If they give a few guys smoking deals on new boats, they will advertise for Tige more than the company ever could on a few websites like this one.
              Be excellent to one another.

I agree 100% that the reviews mean nothing. It's a PR opportunity... why not join the party. Opportunity to get your boats seen... essentially saying remember to check out a Tige. We are all boat enthusiasts and it's fair to say we are knowledgeable about the industry but a new buyer stepping into an inboard for the first time could come across that guide and by simply not having an opportunity to see the Tige's doesn't help.

Boats were added later in 2014 but it was only becasue the ASR wasn't ready.

Has anyone on here had time to play around with the AVX and get it dialed in?

We dialed and surfed the Z3 with AVX that was at the Wake 9 Polar bear.

Played with ours some before the weather turned bad, but definitely didn't get it dialed in. We run a really light crew and didn't get enough weight in it. It is very tunable, love the variation on the fly. I've got some pics posted in my 2015 new boat thread.
