Be careful of the bag. It is a vinyl material and if you drag the bag across the vinyl of the boat, then it stains your vinyl with a nice streak of whatever color the bag is. It took me many months of wondering how I got mysterious red streaks on my vinyl to figure it out. Once I put the red bag in the garage and just stored the anchor without it, my red streaks stopped appearing. And even magic erasers did not remove them. I think the friction between the two just tattoos the vinyl in a bad way.

But I agree, the box anchor always holds. My only failure was when the wind was blowing 35 MPH and I threw it down to a flat sandstone bottom. No anchor would have held me there, unless it weighed 80 pounds or more.
    Be excellent to one another.

I would hate to have to throw that anchor. But it may solve Talltigeguy's issue with a anchor that will hold in 35 m.p.h. winds with a sandy bottom.LOL
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

Medium box anchor here. Stored under the bow compartment seat.
            Ambivalent? Yes. Or Not.

I have a Queen of Anchers.

All I can say is I've lost my share of anchors over the years.

Be sure to have an anchor release. You can buy one or make one yourself.

Large box anchor for our 22ve. Picked up on craigslist for a fraction of the price vs new. On one of the windiest lakes in Oregon, it's never pulled loose. Stored under the side seat behind by the observer.
