    Blasphemy? Slalom Skiing

So......when was the last time you slalom skied? I did today for the first time in years and it was a blast. Faster than wakeboarding, little harder to get up but I forgot how much fun it was to really dig into a turn.

Put on your summer to-do list

Did it 5 days ago. Always haul out the ski a few times a year for a rip when water is glassy. Still like the occasional slalom skiing with boarding and surfin

Funny, my kids were just asking me about it. I have sold my good slalom ski, but I still have a nice big fat slalom ski to tinker with. Since I have fallen in love with the foil, the wakeboard has taken second fiddle, the surfboard 3rd, and I am not sure the ski will see water any time soon.
      Be excellent to one another.

I've only got two ski rides in this year. I should have more. This, that and the other thing seem to be conspiring against my slalom program this season. Hopefully I'll close out the second half a little stronger.

FWIW, I think everyone should ski at least once a year. At least try.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Last Sept. Haven't had a chance this year. I grew up skiing, before wakeboarding and wake surfing. So many good memories on the water as a kid. I will always have a ski. Now I just need to convince my buddy to buy another DD.

Had taps on 1....still a little ramp-y. I was thinking on the water how cool it would be to ski behind a 'no wake' dd. nautique & others spent a few decades getting rid of the wake, now most threads here are how to get more wake. Funny how things evolve over time. I do like having the ability of creating any wake: not optimized on any but doable for all.

I ski every time I go out. I love the slalom! I've found that 32mph with 15 off and taps 3 1/2 is a reasonable wake for a v-drive. It's certainly no DD, but it's so much more comfortable.

I still go 2-3 days a week. Now if you ask me the last time I went wakeboarding...I think I have had one on my feet twice this year.

I ski about 2-3 times a year. Bout kills me to get up on the ski. Has to be pretty close to glass for me to do it.

I never would have remembered the exact date if it wasnt New Years day. By spring, we got the surf thing fingered out and I never broke the plank out again

I did the same thing for several years. Now I'm back on the fire stick much more. You should have a go, Mike. It'll be huge fun for you.

I have yet to get a ride this year but hope to before the season is over. This past weekend I got my oldest up on the same beginner's skis I used as a kid and my parents before that. He made it 2 laps then unfortuately fell forward and cut his knee on the bracket holding the rope link between the skis. 6 staples later... he says he wants to go back out and give it another go. I've got some changes on the ski's to make sure this same thing doesn't happen again - i never was hurt on them so never even crossed my mind it could do it to him. He is only 6 years old but was a trooper being his first trip to the ER for an injury. It'll be a good battle scar story for the future. The wife is pretty scared of the water but is coming around. The injury doesnt help things much.
