The eyelets on my boat are above the platform and VX, so strapping it in would require traversing around them to the trailer eyes which would rub quite hard against the fiberglass. I'll probably end up doing this, but it would be interesting to hear an opposing opinion.

Your dealer is wrong!! Example...loaded my RZ2 on the trailer last Saturday and my wife told me that I was far enough forward, she hooked the strap and safety cable and up the hill we went. I jumped out and started cleaning the boat and when I got to the front I realized that she was wrong. The boat was 3 inches from the roller...since it was already dried off and storage is only 4 miles away I decided to leave it becasue we would be back the next morning. I put the rear straps on and by the time I reached the storage unit it had moved forward 2 inches. I am sure the wet bunks probably helped that but I wouldn't ever travel without them on.Originally posted by supremedevice View PostI was told by a dealer that rear straps are not necessary, as the boat sits so heavy on the trailer there is no need. I was skeptical as i have always used them on outboards and IOs, but he said all they do is just mark up the swim platform. I'd like to hear some viewpoints on here on the subject.
