Group rates will be available Thursday, but I went ahead and reserved the remaining 10 rooms in my name so they didn't get booked by anyone outside of our party! I will need to know if anyone is interested in these rooms and assign them on a first come first serve basis. Each party will be able to check in and pay for their room the day of. I assumed a Friday check-in and Sun check-out for all rooms which can be changed if need be on an individual basis. I will hold these for the next few weeks then cancel all remaining rooms. The rooms include:

    - 2 Kitchen Rooms with a double bed
    - 2 Singles with a double bed and sofa sleeper
    - 4 Desert Views with 2 double beds
    - 2 Lake Views with 2 double beds

All 4 of the cabins are currently available, I did not reserve those.

Please PM, email (johncolman @ me . com) or call (702 two three nine 7463)

I haven't been on that side of the lake but assume you could find a few. There is one large sandy beach but it's a haul up there, look on the map and follow the lake East then North.

I would love to find an awesome beach to camp at and anchor the boat. That is what we usually do on our trips to Mohave and prefer that over campgrounds or motels.

There's a fantastic cove about 3 miles from temple at Mushroom Rock, many, many houseboat trips there and very good sized cove with wind swell block from all sides. I'm bringing both whalers too (17' and 11') so we have a runner to the marina if we decide to camp it. There's also a half mile of sandy beach in this area for hang out but it's a north facing beach so I wouldn't recommend camping on it because of possible wind exposure. We're heading out thursday night, will stay at the hotel that night and then hit the water in the morning looking for a good beach. Most likely will leave GPS coordinates/chart directions with the marina attendant for those coming in friday. Are we going to be sitting around the campfire singing koom-by-ya?

Do you plan on camping on the lake or staying in the motel/campground like you previously mentioned?

We'll be grabbing one of the motel rooms at the marina. It will be good to have an air conditioned space for ol' preggers to take a nap in during the day. The last few years have been successful by having the lunch and main gathering point be at the marina, my vote would be to do the same this year. It seems easier to tell guys to meet at a certain time for events at a stationary point(marina) rather than 'X' beach at 'X' time.

Only 4 of the rooms have been spoken for at this point. I agree with Dan that for the lunch/raffle/dealer portion of the event it may be easier to have it at the Marina under the shade picnic area close to the hotel where everything can be stored. hauling all of that stuff out to a beach always seemed like a PITA!

                Thoughts?

I am up for anything! We like camping on the water so we don't have to pull the boat out each day and we usually get more privacy than a campground, but if everyone will be staying at the hotel/campground we will do that instead. Since this will be my first time attending I don't know how it all works

@ Black Widow: The first couple of years I attended it was set up on the beach and the dealer brought out everything for the event the morning of, then tore down a few hours later and we all had a great time. Once the dealer was no longer involved it landed on the "TO's" and a few of us had to step up and in and coordinate everything on our own. This is when it moved to the docks because we didn't want to spend all day setting up and tearing down, we wanted to be out having fun with everyone else. The dock/marina gave us a place to stage the night before or morning or without hauling stuff around the lake. It also provided picnic tables and shade, a great addition in my book! We were able to use the slips for the weekend at little to no charge since we were renting the houseboats as hotels! This year is all new...new location, new attendees and new DEALERSHIP!! Everything is open to suggestion up to a point, then we need to set some things in stone as we did with the location of Temple Bar and date of Sept. 20-22 with the main event (lunch, raffle and hopefully a Pro Rider/s) on Sat. I know some will want to camp on the lake and some in the campground. Others will take the comfort of AC and a shower so the motel works out nice. Regardless, we need to settle on a location for the "event" and decide who is doing what.

Update: I should have a call back from the dealer tomorrow hopefully. I also suggested to them getting a TO profile and start posting on here. I spoke with Ben P and have an email into Jean W, both from Tige for those that might not know either. They have always been HUGE supporters of this event and will hopefully be able to do so again this year. On that note, if anyone has relationships with vendors or companies that may be willing to donate to the event, please contact them and see what you can come up with. We usually list the sponsors on the shirts.....which leads me to my last topic for this post....sorry for the novel! I still have not heard a word if anyone is interested in shirts/tank tops....which doesn't completely hurt my feelings since it's kind of a PITA....but I also like having a new shirt to sport from the event each year!

                    Thoughts??

We'll take a room for sure and leave some crap on a beach for hangin out during the day. Bad, sign me up for one of the biggest rooms, pm me your address and I'll send out a check.
