How do you drain water from inside the hull/bilge on a R20/RZR

yes front cooler leaks terribly....POS design. Tige is going to replace my setup at the end of the season. I cant even use the front cooler unless I want cold soaked carpet.

Why do you think the cooler is leaking? It makes me angry to sit with wet cold feet when driving and I haven't been in the water!

Has anyone ever taken out front bow cushions? If so, how?

Check the drain plug mount on the bottom of the cooler, mine was not sealed at all and it was loose to boot. There was also no clamp on the hose from the bottom of the fitting to the bilge area. A little stretching and silicone sealer and a hose clamp and I've got no water leakage issues from my cooler.

Yep. The 2 in front of the windshield on mine have clear tubes attached to the bottom which drain into the bilge.

Does the R20 not have a center plug right in front of the transmission? I pull this plug when I put my Z3 on the lift.

No it does not. We order/add those on the boats well sell and service. Its sort of something we thought made sense so we add them. But yes you could add one there if you wanted. Its what I would do if I was having a problem getting all the water out. Its cheap,easy and effective.

Huh...thats a good idea! My bu had a drain in the center to pull while on the trailer.....

My 24Ve did not come with one of these drains. I could add one, but I worry that it will cause turbulence under the hull. What sort of profile do they have on the underside of the hull?

we used to order them if only if the boat was going to sit on a lift and install when sold, now we basically order all of them with center drains.

Well I'm no hydraulics expert but I have never had any issues with any Tige with a Center Drain Plug, or any MC, CC, BU, Centurion, Moomba, Supra that all have them also. Im not even sure what you mean by turbulence. In factory form there is already 4 ballast thru hulls and an intake thru hull all in the same area. So I'm sure that adding another thru hull in that area will not cause any problems at all. But I guess you never know I could be wrong.

Just wondering. Yes, there are a lot of things under there but I've heard lots of stories about how the speedo wheels (and thus cruise control) and depth gauges were messed up after someone installed ballast thruhulls in front of them. The theory is that the thruhull causes turbulence, which then causes problems for the triducer. This is why I kept ALL of my ballast thruhulls on the opposite side of the keel from the triducer. Even if the thruhull isn't directly in front of the sensor, the turbulence angle can change with hull speed - but I can't imagine a scenario where the turbulence would cross UNDER the keel to the other side.

When you install them, how far from the keel do you cut the hole? Obviously centered on the keel would drain the most water, but sealing the outside thruhull would be a nightmare....

You should have drain lines on all your cup holders. My R20 came with one cupholder with no line. I had to go down to the local hardware store and purchase some tubing to make my own.

Precisely ZERO of my cupholders (and I have a lot of them) have drain lines. They are just aluminum inserts with little rubber pads at the bottom. There is a hole in the pad, and a hole in the aluminum, but the bottom surface is smooth (no nipple for hose) and the water just drains into the storage compartment or whatever else is below it.

Ewok, I believe we have the same year of boat. Do you have these drain lines on your cupholders?

Completely different from mine, which are all plastic with nipples on the bottom. I don't even know why they would design a cup holder as you describe.
