Water in bilge that will not come out.

My RZ2 always has water in the bilge. I will pull the plug on the ramp and very little will ever come out. I will leave it out for the ride home, but there is always water in the bilge. Maybe this shouldnt bother me but it realy does! Anybody have a fix for this other than finding a steeper ramp? Im thinking about putting a drain in the bottom of the boat that i can reach from the rear transmission access panel. Thoughts?

Just add the center drain. We do it on all the boats we sell and it works well.

I don't have a center drain on mine, and the residual water bugs me too. I'm considering a second, ultra-low-water-level bilge pump right behind the fuel tank. It's not a bad idea to have a second bilge pump anyway, and this can remove almost all the water.

So far the lowest level bilge pump I've found drains to 1/8th inch. But I have some ideas....

I have this problem on my RZ4, I have fitted a new bilge pump between the fuel tank and gear box, it collects more water there, also have the original at the back but only works on automatic.

Tried jacking the trailer and couldnt get it high enough so what we do is lower the trailer and any stading water stays at the bow, away from engine and gear box, then we launch we drain it out (our club has a tractor with a hydraulic lift which helps)

I do worry about it as we are in salt water, my buddy has a moomba and has same problem, but we can jack his trailer to empty it because of the hull shape.

but i am paranoid about water in the hull as I sank a boat 20 years ago !!

Direct Drive and Double Drain both work!

The plug is not the problem. No v-drive tige has an access hatch next to the driver under the floor. that is the same plug that both my mastercraft and malibu use. I am just curious how or where kko and crew do this. they could put it back by the v-drive, but that is hardly near the lowest part of the hull.
