Alright, before I start bashing this box anchor I purchased I'm going to see if anyone has tips on how to set the dang thing! I usually try to set it in about 8-15 ft of water in sandy conditions. It seems to me that when I throw it out it doesn't open ... It stays in its folded state ... Any tips?

There should be a short metal arm with a 90-degree hook on the end that swings from its pivot point on one side of the anchor and slides into a short sleeve attached to the adjacent side of the anchor. This holds it into the open position.Comment

Speaking of that picture, I've never understood the point of the stainless steel version. Other than looking cool when getting it out or stowing it (or to the fish that may happen to see it), is there a functional advantage?Comment
