Depends on who you ask and which Malibu and Tige you are comparing. I would take the two that you are interested in and demo them both on same day, if possible, and the same lake. If you were to demo one in Utah lake and another in a deeper lake there could be a big difference.Originally posted by ereed969 View Postwhich boat is better for surfing?

Every current V-drive hull, but the 22Ve/RZ2 hull seems to be the better out of the Tige stable.Originally posted by ereed969 View PostWhat Tige is known for being a good surfer boat?Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

The 20V is a good solid surf boat, but the Z1 IMO, was the best out of the box surf boat. Once you started to weight the 22Ve, is over takes the Z1.Originally posted by skippabcool View PostI better not forget the 20v and Z1. The 24 footers throw a good wave as well they just need a bunch of weight.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

I've never surfed a Malibu I liked but, I've never surfed one the was sacked out. Duffy is our resident big wave guru and he recons the Malibu 247 is a badazz surfboat with a couple thousand pounds of ballast. That being said, his Tige 24v is absolutely sic. Personally, I wouldn't buy a Malibu based on their construction techniques. They are paper thin and screwed together. I've seen at least one buckle like a milk carton. After surfing that particular boat (23 LSV w/ wedge and factory ballast) and surfing my old Tige immediately after, I couldn't believe someone would spend that much money on such flimsy boat that surfed like crap and then folded like paper and separated at the seam with a little bump on the dock. Since then, I have looked down my nose at even the nicest of 'Boo's. I know lots of people have wonderful experiences with their 'Boo's but I wouldn't buy one.
Does anybody remember when Malibu was just a cheap, knockoff Centurion? They even copied the gelcoat pattern. They just turned the pattern upside down on the sides. How cheap can you get? You'll get your chance, smart guy.
