Not sure I would go the Pam route. I'd be too afraid of getting it on the rest of the boat. Plastic wrap is a pretty good idea.
One thing I always keep on my boat is baby wipes. They take just about anything off of anything and they do it gently and efficiently. They are amazing and cheap. They take bugs off of towers very well. You'll get your chance, smart guy.

ouch gets pricey replacing motor covers. Mine doesnt rest on anything its just the way the sides fold into the boat im not sure if the structure is meant to support that. I think suran wrap and babywipes is the best way to go then I can leave the tower upOriginally posted by TigeTrojan View PostJust make sure it's not bouncing around on whatever it rests against. I know your boat is different, but on my direct drive it rests on the motor cover and the one time i drove with it down, it tore the vinyl up.

on my old boat i used a couple of jack stands with pads on them to prop up my tower when i stowed it down, just to clear the engine cover. seemed to work great with no issues of rubbing/chipping the powder coat-fwiw.Originally posted by Fire_medic View Postouch gets pricey replacing motor covers. One of our epic tows was from Vancouver BC to Lake Powell and back.
We always tow with the tower up. Bimini down. Saran wrap everything.
Unlike some others we also tow with our cover on.
Don't forget to pack the saran wrap with you so you can use it on the way back.
Amazing thing about the saran wrap is that it seems to be unaffected by heat of Utah in late July.
